Objectives

As part of our strategy, People 1st will focus on achieving four objectives:

1. Reform Qualifications

We will ensure that only industry valued qualifications are in place. This in turn will ensure that Government funding truly benefits the sector.

2. Stimulate World Class Education and Training

We will ensure employers and learners can identify the organisations that offer excellent education and training programmes, leading to world class qualifications. This will increase the effectiveness and impact of skills delivery and help to stimulate industry demand and investment in skills from employers across the UK.

3. Attract, Develop and Retain High Quality People

We will build clear progression routes covering all occupations within its sector, helping learners to identify the right career route, the skills and knowledge needed to progress within it and the best practice employers who will help them to grow and develop.

4. Deliver a Skills Communication System

We will enable employers, employees, and new entrants to access the skills, qualifications and funding support they need. We will match skilled workers with good employers to grow the self esteem and loyalty of the sector's workforce.
