Bus, coach & heavy vehicle apprenticeships

Three new apprenticeship standards have been developed for bus, coach and heavy vehicle engineering. They form progressive career pathways, incorporating the knowledge, skills and behaviours employers have defined for today’s industry.

The standards have been designed so that they apply across the sector, allowing organisations to incorporate their own ways of working, products and services into the learning and development, whilst ensuring it meets one national standard.

Proposed amendment to the bus and coach engineering manager apprenticeship standard and assessment plan

Following the successful development of the apprenticeship standard for bus and coach engineering managers, the trailblazer group has been approached with the view to widening the standard to incorporate engineering managers in a heavy vehicle environment.

As such, a proposal is set out here to amend the original documents as follows:

  • Change the name of the standard to ‘Road Transport Engineering Manager’
  • Minor amendments to ensure language applies across bus, coach and engineering services in commercial operators

There has been no substantive change to criteria or assessment methodology. All proposed amendments have been marked up as tracked changes on the documents below.

Please read through these documents and then complete this short online survey

Responses should be completed no later than 5pm on Friday, 17 February 2017. If you have any questions, please contact trailblazer@people1st.co.uk
