Qualifications

This section deals with our current work on qualification reform, in order to ensure that qualifications and national programmes meet the needs of employers.

We are working hard to achieve this, but there is still much more to do. Although two thirds of employers are training, only three percent of this currently results in a recognised qualification.

Employers often find the qualifications landscape confusing, and we are working on their behalf to make it both relevant and easier to navigate. We are currently developing the Sector Qualifications Strategy (SQS), a critical piece of work which aims to rationalise the qualifications available and highlight robust career pathways.
