Current projects We're working on a number of projects across the Middle East, Northern Africa, South Asia, Central and South America and the British Isles to transform skills, training and professional standards. Here's a selection of our current work: Next Tourism Generation Skills Alliance: Contributing to the development of a new strategic Blueprint approach for Sectoral Skills Development in Tourism to respond to the fast-changing skills gaps in digital, green and social skills sets. Skills in Business - An SME Programme supporting Economic Inclusion through tailor-made Work-Based Learning Solutions: This EBRD project covers business development for SMEs in receipt of EBRD loans in Morocco, Egypt and Tunisia. The focus is economic inclusion for youth and there are three components; support for 10 businesses; best practice support and training for local consultants; guidance for loan advisors. Support to Policy Dialogue on Skills Development in the Tourism Sector in Jordan - Phase 1: Determine and develop industry occupational profiles and occupational standards: Define hospitality sub sectors and develop occupational standards and profiles for: 1. Restaurant – fine dining, café, fast food outlets 2. Accommodation – hotels, hospitals, aparthotels, Airbnb 3. Travel operators – inbound and outbound 4. Tour guides including Cultural and Adventure Tourism 5. Handicrafts and Antiquities. UAE Skills Future Framework for a Competitive Knowledge Economy: Supporting HCT with quality assurance of one of the key projects under the UAE SkillsFuture Framework – ‘Aligning and implementing HCT graduate employability readiness to the UAE Employment Strategy, focusing on the Private Sector and Women, as well defining upskilling and reskilling programs for future needs'. UK Skills Federation Accreditation Scheme for Bachelor of Vocation Degrees in India: Providing accreditation of Indian Bachelor of Vocation degrees with the UK Skills Quality Mark. Business skills support in Hospitality for Government of Jersey: Addressing the challenges faced by business owners and managers in creating a sustainable future skills and workforce plan in the Jersey context. The intervention will work collaboratively with participating businesses in specific industry sectors (retail, hospitality, healthcare and construction) to identify the skills that will be needed to achieve success in the next 5 to 10 years. Establishing a new training facility at City Centre Almaza targeting young people and people with disabilities. Phase 2: Operationalising a sustainable model: Supporting the client in establishing the new training facility and placing it on a sustainable footing. The initial phase (Phase 1) fulfilled an assessment of the market needs; defined an operable business model; and co-ordinated a study tour to Abdali Mall in Amman, Jordan, that was previously supported under a similar programme - www.abdalimall.com. The present work-stage (Phase 2) builds on the outcomes of Phase 1 to operationalise the ARTC and establish the grounds for its sustainable functioning into the future. Skills for Prosperity programme – previously ‘Global Britain Education and Skills Hub’: The Skills for Prosperity programme aims to ‘increase capacity for inclusive economic growth due to more productive and equitable skills sectors improving employability, employment opportunities and the earning potential of beneficiaries.’ It seeks to improve the affordability, quality, relevance and equity of Higher Education and TVET in Brazil, Egypt, Kenya, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Philippines and South Africa. Skills for Prosperity Mexico: Supporting DAI in delivery of the Skills for Prosperity programme in Mexico, which will have economic development and welfare as the main objective and will contribute to a reduction of poverty in Mexico. Technical Assistance Programme on Sustainable Cities for Shared Prosperity: Supporting Mott MacDonald in the delivery of the India Smart Cities programme, with a focus on addressing the skills gaps in the key output areas of Transportation and Urban Planning. Skilled Young Palestine – Improving Resilience and Job Opportunities for Youth: Set-up of a Skills Development Fund established within a private sector umbrella to support young people from vulnerable areas in Palestine to have realistic employment/self-employment opportunities that improve social and economic inclusion.
