People 1st announces Total People as its 10th gold standard apprenticeship provider

30 October 2017

Performance and talent management expert People 1st has announced that Total People has become the 10th apprenticeship provider to achieve its prestigious gold standard apprenticeship provider status.

One of the largest work-based training providers in the North West, Total People joins nine other apprenticeship providers – Babcock, HIT Training, HTP Apprenticeship College, Lifetime, Solihull College and University Centre, The Source Skills Academy, TLC, Vision Business West Nottinghamshire College and Westminster Kingsway College – in attaining the gold standard.

People 1st gold standard apprenticeship provider status is an exclusive stamp of approval that is promoted to employers throughout the visitor economy industry.

Introduced to help employers find excellent apprenticeship providers more easily, it is only awarded to providers that have passed a rigorous assessment on their ability to deliver an outstanding service to the businesses they work with.

Providers are assessed on criteria including how responsive and flexible their programmes are; how well they collaborate with employers and other partners; learner achievement figures and how they ensure that they are staying one step ahead of the evolving policy, business and economic landscape.

Simon Tarr, chief executive of People 1st, commented: “On a daily basis, employers were asking us how they can tell if an apprenticeship provider is good or not. While the Register of Apprentice Training Providers tells them who is considered suitable to deliver apprenticeships, it doesn’t tell them what level of service they can expect.

“That’s why we introduced the gold standard recognition – when employers see that badge, they know that provider has a proven track record of responding to businesses’ needs. We’ve already had excellent feedback from employers who are using these providers, and we’re thrilled to welcome Total People as the 10th member of the network.”

Dawn Haynes, sector manager of the hospitality team at Total People added: “We’re very proud of the great service we offer to employers and felt that obtaining the People 1st gold standard was an excellent way to showcase this, over and above being listed on the Register of Apprenticeship Providers. We’re delighted to have become the 10th provider to achieve this status.”
