Meros Pharm LLC, the second-largest pharmaceutical distribution company in Uzbekistan and a vital part of the Meros Group, is working in partnership with People 1st International through funding provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to create the Meros Pharm Training Academy. With over 1,000 employees, Meros Pharm acknowledges the need for robust solutions in skill development. The Academy will provide foundational and continuous education, addressing skills gaps and aligning with market needs. The Academy is a strategic investment in workforce development, ensuring Meros Pharm remains competitive and sustainable in the pharmaceutical industry.

Aim of the project
The project aims to support Meros Pharm LLC in creating the ‘Meros Pharm Training Academy’. The primary goal is to address skills development needs by offering foundational education for entry-level staff and continuous education for existing workers, targeting ongoing skills gaps and aligning with market demands.
The project includes assessing the vocational skills and accreditation needs of the company, specifically in logistics and warehousing, through desk research and stakeholder input. The focus is on understanding the skills aspirations of youth and identifying local training partners.
Additionally, the project aims to define key operational parameters for establishing the Academy, covering physical requirements, governance structure, staffing needs, responsibilities, financial models, marketing plans, and implementation timelines. The final stage will support preparation of contracting materials and terms of references for to allow the project to proceed to Phase II – Launching the Academy, including technical content for the design and launch of training activities.
